Giganet download speed max 500-600mb

Hi,

I've switched to the Giganet recently but after testing it for a few days I've noticed that the download speed maximum reached 500-600MB while upload speed is good as stated. I'm not expecting to see 1000MB over WiFi but something around 800-900 I think should be possible with giga. Any advice how to speed it up?

Could you perform a speed test directly to the router using this website?

Could you run netsh wlan show interfaces in cmd.exe and post its results before running a speed test using Wi-Fi?

With wifi5 and a device with 2 antennas, you wil get not higher then 650 Mbit/s.

With wifi6 devices and the wifi6 modem/router, I get here:

I was standing next to my modem like 30cm away 🙂

I have MacBook Pro 2019, I couldn't run netsh on macos but I think it gives similar results (attached the screenshots)

Maybe any settings which might be helpful to tweak on the modem?

The 2019 MacBook Pro is limited to Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac). Keeping this in mind, 600 Mbps is quite a good result in my opinion.

You may consider connecting an external Wi-Fi 6 USB adapter, this should offer download speeds approaching or potentially exceeding 1 Gbps. The modem is provisioned for a 1070 Mbps download speed.

I can imagine exactly 1070 Mbps being very difficult to achieve due to increased latency under load. DOCSIS 4.0 might yield improvement in this case.

cant wait for ziggo to utilize docsis 3.1 spectrum more (frequencies above 1Ghz)

Extended frequency spectrum increases capacity and enables higher throughput, however latency wil remain largely unchanged unless channel utilization is very high.
