Port 80 and the Sagemcom

Objective: Enable port forwarding of port 80 for my hosted www site.

Sorry for the English.

I just upgraded the modem/route from the white SmartWifi (Arris or Compal) to the black SmartWifi (Sagemcom) route for 1Gb speeds. Easy to install and faster speeds.

The bad news is that my external IP changed without knowing. I guess an artifact of the switch. Unfortunately I cannot redefine the port forwarding rules I need to grant access to my www server (Port 80). I can use Port 80 for the "Lokale" settings but the page rejects using 80 for the "Externe". I get the following "De poortnummers die je hebt ingevoerd, overlappen elkaar".

I can make a rule that is 80/80 for lokale, and 808/808 for Externe. When I do that it works and I verify the 808 is open externally.

Although I disabled UPnP and restarted my model to remove the automatic rules for 192.168.178.199 (I assume this is the Sagemcom modem's www site for SmartWifi web) these rules still seem persistent and active.

How do I enable portforwding of my hosted www site?

port 80 is reserverd for the modem interface and cannot be used

You disabled upnp but the 80|80 is stil in the list.

Remove the upnp 80|80 rules before creating a port 80|80 rule.

Ik heb geen ervaring met de Ziggo modem / routers maar op deze Ziggo pagina met voorbeelden lijkt poort 80 forwarden wel te kunnen.

This is caused by the new modem using a different WAN MAC address for the eRouter, which will result in a new DHCPv4 lease being offered.

192.168.178.199 (I assume this is the Sagemcom modem's www site for SmartWifi web)

This is a device within your LAN. SmartWifi web uses TR-069 instead of port forwarding.

As mentioned above, the existing 80 → 80 rule, created by UPnP, conflicts with the new static 80 → 80 rule. A specific port number can be used only once externally (on the eRouter WAN interface). Try using the modem's web interface (192.168.178.1) instead of SmartWifi web to disable UPnP, remove the UPnP rules and create the 80 → 80 static rule.

I used the SmartWifi app to initialise my modem/router.

When I try to log in using the password on the device sticker I can never get in. I get "The password you entered is incorrect." I even tried my Ziggo web password and I am resisting the temptation to somehow factory reset the device. Since I dont need the remote access to the modem outside of my network, I am happy to disable the SmartWifi web service and stick to plain old internal IP.

Are you using the correct password ('Modem wachtwoord')? Keep in mind that the password may be difficult to read due to the font size used.

So anyone who gets this modem cannot also host their own www site??? Seems limiting

Thanks so far.

As you can see in the screenshot, the only rule I have in the list that I can disable or delete is my own. There is no check box in the UI to select and delete the automatic 80 > 80 rule initialised by UPnP.

Summarizing: log in to the modem's web interface (192.168.178.1) using the 'Modem wachtwoord', disable UPnP, remove the 80 → 192.168.178.199:80 rule created by UPnP and create the 80 → 192.168.178.99:80 static rule.

Yes password is correct. Double checked the mini card with the sticker on the bottom and had someone else validate what was entered.

If the 'Modem wachtwoord' is not accepted by the web interface, you will need to restore the modem to factory defaults by pressing the holding the RESET button on the bottom of the unit for ~30 seconds.

Bad news / Good news.

After factory reset i still cannot log in directly via 192....I know the password is correct because I tried it for the WiFi set up on another device and it worked.

Good news is that factory reset wiped out the upnp rules, I added my port 80 rules and everything is great.

that password is not the one you need to use

you need to use MODEM PASSWORD
