Hi,

I am trying to uninstall the WiFi Booster DECO TP-LINK but I cannot make the WiFi work again with the regular modem/router by Ziggo. Here's what I tried:

I have disabled the Access Point in the DECO App.

I have removed all the boosters

I have re-enabled 2.4 and 5 Ghz in the internal settings of the modem/router Ziggo

It doesn't work.

I have tried to find Wired mode in the settings, as per guidelines provided by Ziggo, but it's not there.

What should I do to re-configure my model so that it's the only one working and spreading WiFi in the apartment?

Thanks for helping me!!

Re-enabling 2.4 and 5 GHz should be enough to make to the modem broadcast Wi-Fi again. You may want to reboot the modem afterwards. You can find the 'wired mode' setting in SmartWifi web, which is essentially identical to disabling 2.4 and 5 GHz in the web interface.

Can you verify whether the modem is broadcasting any SSID at all? If you were using a Connectbox before the current the SmartWifi modem, it might be broadcasting an SSID different to the one printed on the label.

Did you try the 'wired mode' setting in SmartWifi web also?

As a last resort, you may reset the modem to factory settings.

Hallo,

Reset or remove is simple : start the Deco app en remove a station or the whole Deco network. If you want to use the Deco's again, reset all Deco stations, with its reset button and wait for the blue led, before switching off the Deco.

Leest u dit eens: Leidraad voor TP-Link DECO, daarin wordt heel veel uitgelegd.

SmartWiFi enabled did the trick. It works!

Should I merge now the two WiFis? 2.4 and 5 Ghz?

I don't understand which one is better and what to choose 🙂

Thanks all!

Glad to read. A combined SSID for 2.4 + 5 GHz should be fine in most circumstances. If you encounter connection problems on 2.4 GHz-only devices, you may create separate SSIDs for 2.4 + 5 GHz. 2.4 GHz offers greater coverage, 5 GHz offers more capacity (higher speed).
