Hello,

I am having some troubles with my homelab setup and the IPv6 configuration from our modem.

Can you please disable the IPv6 public address for my modem? I cannot find a setting for this like I did when I had KPN.

IPv6 cannot be disabled at Ziggo.

You can disable IPv6 in your homelab and other devices.

Or put the modem in bridge mode with its own router behind it that manages the IP rights.

Or buy your own modem/router for the coaxial cable where you can set everything yourself: FRITZ!Box kabelrouter kopen | Topsnelheden via de kabel

When I was a customer in 2020-2023, this was done by a support member of this forum.

Well it's now 2025, and it is not done anymore.

I doubt there is a ipv6 problem, usually it's something else.

Could you elaborate on this? The "troubles" can probably be resolved without disabling IPv6, which is bad practice.

Het kan wel bad practice zijn om IPv6 uit te zetten, maar als het voor nu problemen oplost, is het wel effectief, zoals hier ook ervaren met bepaalde apparatuur, die later wel met de juiste firmware/software IPv6 goed verwerkte.

Kun je later alsnog dieper naar de oorzaak zoeken en een mogelijk issue oplossen.
